Job Duties:
- Make Japanese and Korean dishes such as katsu, teriyaki, and bulkoki, according to menu recipes and presentation standards
- Prepare fish, meats, and vegetables and assemble broths, sauces, and side dishes for daily service
- Modify ingredients or cooking methods for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Set portion sizes and calculate ingredient costs per dish
- Instruct kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe food handling
- Order food and kitchen supplies and track inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
- Sanitize the kitchen, work areas, and equipment after each service
Job requirements:
- Language: English
- Education: Completion of secondary school is required
- Experience: 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience is required, and experience in Japanese and Korean cuisine is an asset
