Peoples Bookkeeping & Tax Inc. is looking for a General accountant to work at 1200 Princess Royal Avenue suite 4
Nanaimo, BC V9S 3Z7. Salary is 44.50 dollars per hour and no of hours are 30 per week.(Even though this is a full time position, part time job seekers are encouraged to apply.)
Job Duties:
Plan, set up and administer accounting systems – Set up chart of accounts, cost centres, and accounting procedures in QuickBooks / Sage / Xero; integrate payroll, banking and AP/AR; prepare financial information by department and project for businesses.
Examine accounting records and prepare financial statements – Perform full-cycle accounting, month-end and year-end close, bank and GL reconciliations; prepare Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow and management reports.
Prepare tax returns from accounting records – Prepare and file T2 Corporate, T1 Personal, GST/PST, T4/T5/T5018, and WorkSafeBC returns; ensure CRA compliance and handle CRA reviews and audits.
Analyze reports and provide advice – Analyze profitability, cash flow; provide financial, business and tax advice including cash flow forecasting, salary vs. dividend planning, and BC small business tax planning.
Supervise and train staff – Supervise, train and review work of junior accountants, articling students and admin technicians; ensure accuracy, deadlines and quality standards.
Requirements:
Completion of Bachelor's degree is required. Previous 3 years to less than 5 years of related experience is required. Certification is an asset.
