Work Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada

Hours of Work: 30 hours per week
Travel Requirement: Must be flexible and willing to travel locally on a daily basis as required for the child’s school, appointments, activities, errands, and other child-care-related needs.
Employment Requirement: Prospective candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

The Home Child Care Provider will work in the employer's private residence in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, for  30 hours per week. The caregiver will be responsible for the supervision, care, safety, and well-being of a 10-year-old child.

Duties include:

• Supervise and care for the child in the employer's residence and assume responsibility for the child's care and well-being in the absence of the parents.

• Prepare the child for school each day, including assisting with clothing, personal belongings, school supplies, lunch, backpack, and other school-related needs.

• Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals and snacks for the child.

• Help the child with homework, reading, school projects, and other age-appropriate educational activities.

• Supervise the child before and after school and ensure a safe and healthy environment while the child is under the caregiver's supervision.

• Organize and participate in age-appropriate activities such as games, crafts, reading, outdoor activities, and outings to support the child's learning and development.

• Instruct and guide the child regarding personal hygiene, daily routines, organization, appropriate behaviour, and age-appropriate responsibilities.

• Tend to the child's emotional well-being and support her social development.

• Provide appropriate guidance and discipline according to the methods and instructions requested by the parents.

• Take the child to and from school, appointments, extracurricular activities, outings, and other destinations as required by the parents.

• Be flexible and available for daily local travel within Niagara Falls and surrounding areas when required for the child's school, appointments, activities, errands, and other child-care-related responsibilities.

• Maintain records or provide regular updates to the parents regarding the child's daily activities, meals, schoolwork, behaviour, health, and general well-being.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment in the home.

• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, including tidying the child's bedroom and activity areas, washing dishes, and keeping areas used by the child clean and organized.

• Wash, dry, fold, iron when required, and organize the child's clothing, bedding, household linens, and other laundry.

• Prepare and organize the child's clothing, school materials, meals, and other necessities for the following day.

• Shop for food, groceries, and household supplies when required by the employer.

• Accompany the family on trips when required and assist with child supervision and related housekeeping duties during travel.

• Perform other reasonable child-care and household duties related to the position as required.
