Position Info:

• Position: Head Chef
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $38.50-$40.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions: 1
• Work Location: 1661 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver, BC V7M 2J5

Job Duties:

• Make dishes from the menu to the restaurant’s quality and portion standards
• Direct cooks and kitchen staff, assigning stations and tasks
• Design menus and update them based on customer demand and seasonal ingredients
• Inspect dishes before they leave the kitchen to confirm consistent taste, portion size, and appearance
• Train cooks and new kitchen staff preparation, cooking, plating, and food handling methods, including new techniques and equipment
• Develop new recipes and refine existing ones based on customer feedback and food costs
• Modify dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Order ingredients and kitchen supplies based on projected sales and estimated costs
• Track food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory records
• Coordinate equipment purchases and repairs with suppliers and service providers

Job Requirements:

• Language: English
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
• Experience: 3-5 years of commercial cooking experience including supervisory experience is required
