Position Info:

• Position: Head Chef
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $38.50/hour
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions: 1
• Work Location: 329 North Rd Suite 240, Coquitlam, BC V3K 3V8

Job Duties:

• Prepare and cook high-quality authentic Korean specialty dishes, including hot-plate/grill, hot-pot dishes, and handmade noodles
• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure food quality and kitchen efficiency
• Train kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking techniques, food handling, and safety standards
• Plan kitchen offerings and ensure all dishes consistently meet target taste, presentation, and quality standards
• Develop and refine new seasonal recipes, sauces, and signature marinades
• Estimate daily ingredient requirements, monitor supply levels, and manage food inventory costs
• Authorize and manage purchasing requisitions for specialty Korean ingredients, seasonings, and kitchen supplies
• Track and maintain accurate records of food consumption, inventory turnover, and cost efficiency
• Instruct and demonstrate advanced Korean culinary techniques and specialized hot-grill equipment operation to kitchen staff

Job requirements:

• Experience: 3-5 years of supervisory commercial cooking experience is required
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
• Language: English
